WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE DRAWINGS:

Decks
Decks are typically open, elevated platforms made of wood, composite materials, or metal framing, often without a roof or enclosure. They may be:

  •  Attached or Detached from the main structure.

  • Single or Multi-level, depending on the grade of the lot and desired use.

  • Supported by posts and footings, especially when elevated.

  • Used for outdoor dining, entertaining, or leisure, often accessed from living rooms, kitchens, or backyards.

  • Equipped with guardrails or handrails for safety, depending on height above grade.

Porches
Porches are covered structures attached to the entrance of a building, usually on the front, side, or rear:

  • May be open-air or enclosed (screened or glassed) for additional protection and seasonal use.

  • Provide shelter from the elements while offering a transitional space between indoors and outdoors.

  • Often include roof extensions, railings, columns, and flooring similar in finish to the main structure.

  • Commonly used for relaxation, socializing, or as an aesthetic feature that enhances curb appeal.

Decks/Porches

Decks and porches are exterior structures attached to or located near the main building, designed to enhance outdoor living space and provide a transition between the interior and the surrounding environment. Though similar in purpose, they differ slightly in structure and typical construction:
